Bringing the party to the party
Do your own Tarot Readings
So you want to do your own Tarot readings at your next party because we we were already booked when you reached? Though it may seem like a lot, relax! We’ve got you covered with a guide and some tips!
NY Times Guide: Tarot for Beginners
Supplies
What you’ll need:
Use a Tarot deck that you like. There are so so many different kinds available ranging from classic decks to hand painted ones. There is everything from Goddess cards to Wisdom cards, Thoth, to everything in between. I personally love the Rider-Waite deck and it’s images, but enjoy using many others.
Find a table (a velvet table cloth is nice) and something to cover the table. Some people add incense and candles.
Where should we do it?
We always point out to hosts and planners that the best space is where you can hear and be heard as well as see and be seen.
So many people!
At some time or another, you will probably have a lot of people. Though it might be awkward for you, try to decide ahead of time what you are going to do and how you’ll do it. As far as the guests go, you’ll want to let them know how you’re going to do things.
No matter what you tell people, how are you going to handle it if several people want a reading together? How are you going to do it? Or do you even do it? It may not seem like it, but it IS your choice: you can give them readings together or separately. Two people? More? Why not? Try it! Make sure that everybody in that group is on board with sharing their reading before you start.
Truth be told, Tarot is great fun, engaging, helpful, and so awesome for connecting everybody!
Let us know how we can help. We’ve got the best readers in the country!
